Agreement with Sky Italia Brings Soccer’s Most Celebrated Event to Sea for Costa Guests
From the Mediterranean to Northern Europe, guests aboard Costa ships in Europe this summer will be able to enjoy soccer’s most celebrated event, the FIFA World Cup 2010. Costa, Europe’s Number One Cruise Line, will bring select matches to sea on 12 of the fleet’s ships in partnership with Sky Italia. Eight matches will be broadcast live in the Mediterranean and four in Northern Europe.
During the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2010 championship, to be held in South Africa from June 11 through July 11, Costa guests will be able to watch matches on more than 20 Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises. These eagerly awaited matches will be shown in the most beautiful and striking areas of Costa’s ships, complete with breathtaking panoramas of the world-renowned landscapes and locales visited.
During the last FIFA World Cup championship in 2006, Costa broadcast semi-final and final matches, including Italy’s triumphant championship win.
