Holland America Line has added three new segments to ms Amsterdam’s 75-day Grand Asia & Australia Voyage in fall 2012. Ranging from 20 to 30 days, the new segments set sail in October and November and span from China to California.

June 24 - 2012 : New Variety Voyager Mega Yacht from Variety Cruises
Variety Cruises’ new build 223-foot, state-of-the-art Mega Yacht, Variety Voyager, debuted in May and is the first sea-going vessel to become a member of the exclusive Preferred Hotels & Resorts' Preferred Boutique Collection. This luxury vessel was constructed in Perama Shipyards, Greece at a cost of 29 Million Euro.

June 18 - 2012 : Silversea Purchases Galapagos Explorer II
The Silversea Group announced today that it has purchased Canodros S.A., the premier Ecuadorian tourism company that operates in the Galapagos Islands, and their upmarket expedition ship, Galapagos Explorer II.
Silversea plans to add Galapagos Explorer II to its ultra-luxury fleet of six ships next year, after the all-suite, 100-guest vessel undergoes a major refurbishment in September 2013 and is given a new name, steps that will ensure consistency with the standards of the Silversea fleet.

(ICV) a not-for-profit corporation formed by victims and families of victims of cruise ship crime, and the voice promoting safety on cruise ships, call into question the fact that despite their many trips to Washington DC, the submission of written material and video conferences with the FBI and US Coast Guard, their recommendations as well as the true intent of the CVSSA (Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act) is being ignored.
