Cruise News - Hebridean Island Cruises – Fares
July 15 - 2010 : Hebridean Island Cruises hold prices as Hebridean Princess 2011 programme is launched
Hebridean Island Cruises, for which Lord Sterling is Chairman, has launched the 2011 programme for their 5 star cruise ship Hebridean Princess - this will be the ship’s 23rd season of continuous operation in and around the Hebrides.
Whilst demand for their cruises is high, the company has been able to hold cruise fares at the previous year’s levels meaning that 2009 prices will be continued into 2011. In addition, for the first time in over 15 years and in response to guest feedback, a number of longer 9 and 10 night cruises have been included.

As well as visiting over 30 ScottishIslands and usual cruising grounds of Scotland’s West Coast and the Western Isles from her base in Oban, Hebridean Princess will replicate a programme around the sea lochs of Argyll and the Clyde Estuary during March and November of 2011. The same itinerary proved extremely popular when the ship operated there for the first time in 2010 and they have received many requests to return. Other preferred haunts included within the 2011 programme are the Northern Isles, with visits planned to the remote Fair Isle, Kirkwall, Stronsay and Westray in Orkney plus calls to Lerwick, Unst and Scalloway in Shetland.
A highlight of the 2011 programme has Hebridean Princess undertaking a series of cruises through August and September that see her circumnavigate Britain, with maiden calls both on the British Mainland and on the near continent. Her voyage takes her from the Northern Isles, down the East Coast of Scotland and England, across the Channel to France, then back via South West England, the Scilly Isles, Wales and Ireland, all in the complete opulence and country house style that have become synonymous with a cruise aboard this unique little British ship.
Hebridean’s Guest Speaker programme, introduced in 2010, has been extended in 2011 with a line-up that includes Jim Gardiner, Chief Curator of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Gardens along with Mike Everett, a conservation and ornithology specialist who has worked for the RSPB for nearly 40 years. They will join Hebridean Princess’s regular Guides, each with unparalleled knowledge to help immerse guests in the history, culture, architecture, folklore and wildlife of the areas visited.
The ships’ owners, All Leisure Holidays Ltd, continue to invest heavily in the vessel, demonstrating their desire to operate the ship for many years to come. Throughout the coming winter, the Bay grade cabins will be completely re-built to emerge as new single cabins with private facilities. Other accommodation refurbishments will see a current small double cabin refurbished as a single cabin and two current large single cabins refurbished as double cabins.
